Larry Meril is the director of the RMSBG audit and accounting practice and oversees the RMSBG SEC Public Companies Services Group. Larry brings over twenty-five years of diversified public accounting expertise to the firm including Big 4, national and local firm experience. As such, he provides clients with a unique blend of experience and high quality service in the areas of accounting, auditing and financial reporting.
Larry has a broad industry background that includes clients in real estate, private equity, life sciences and biotech, chemical manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail, professional services, restaurants, software development, internet technology, research and development, airlines, and the entertainment and broadcast and cable television industries. His real estate expertise encompasses commercial developers, general contractors, home builders, real estate management and syndications.
Larry's expertise includes SEC reporting, private equity audit and taxation, sophisticated GAAP research and analysis, design of business processes and internal accounting controls, accounting technology, and due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.

- Managed the audits of Fortune 500 companies and IPO's for closely-held businesses
- Expert witness in Federal District Court concerning generally accepted accounting principles
- Managed the Due Diligence process of selecting mortgages for Wall Street brokerage firms entering the mortgage backed securities business
- Prepared the monthly financial reporting package for a major residential construction company
- Supervised the audit of the largest independent franchisee of fast food restaurants in the New York metropolitan area
- Coordinated the preparation of the annual Proxy Statement for one of the largest public oil and gas companies in the world
A certified public accountant, Larry is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey and New York Societies of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Larry's CPA state society committee experience includes serving on the Real Estate, Construction Contractors, Hotel, Club and Restaurant, and the SEC Practice Assistance Committees.
Larry holds a BS degree in Accounting from Syracuse University. He was recently recognized by the Syracuse University Lubin School of Accounting as one of a select group of alumni that have founded successful regional accounting firms.
Prior to co-founding RMSBG, Larry was a senior manager with the national real estate accounting firm of Kenneth Leventhal & Company and the international accounting firm of Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young). |
